-----------------------------------------------The Mitch Game Readme: Please read this before playing the game-----------------------------------------------

Mitch.qst has a pretty steep learning curve. despite it's linearity, it can be difficult to find out what to do next. There should be no glitches other than a certain few that I am perfectly aware of. For your awareness, they are described here:

The biggest glitch is the Continue glitch. In some levels, there is a problem where if you die or quit and then select Continue, you may appear on a screen other than the one you are intended to. I have made a precaution by making every single screen have a "Link start" location, or whatever you want to call it. This will stop you from becoming stuck in a wall, or not appearing at all. However, there is always the tiny chance that it could send you to an area further in the game. If this happens, I strongly suggest that you quit immediatly, so you don't get stuck again or end up further than you should be. You'll have to go back anyway to get what you missed, you can't just jump ahead. Also, the screen 00 of each map but the first has a room that you have a large chance of being sent to if the glitch happens. In this room, you will recieve 200 rupees as an apology of having to deal with it.

The other glitch relates to an item that can do strange things under certain circumstances. If it causes you to get stuck, you will be taken to another 200 Rupee room. However, these rooms are actually designed to be entered. If you can figure out the glitch, you are very much welcome to go to the rooms and get the cash. It can really help.

Now, onto a much lighter note. Ignoring the couple glitches, the rest of the game is fairly well-designed. Here is how the game is set up.

That is the basic map. If you have trouble figuring out where to go, this should be enough to help. The entrance to the Graveyard with Level 8 is a bit unorthodox, but not difficult. Now that the map is over with, here are all the items and their locations. If you want to be suprised by the items' locations, just don't read this. It's that simple.

If you read the above, you can see the totals of hearts and bomb upgrades. In case you missed it, here it is again. For the bombs, there is an upgrade in each of the first 8 levels. You start with a maximum of 8 (2 Super), and each upgrade increases your capacity by 4 (1 Super). That makes the final total 40 bombs, and 10 Super Bombs. For the hearts, here's a detailed description. There's a lot, so you should probably keep track of which ones you get with the checklist at the end of this file. Otherwise, you may never know where to look to find the others. To make things even more confusing, you'll have to backtrack into previous areas a few times to get them all.

3 - you start with these
8 - a container in each of the first 8 levels (8 full containers)
  8 - 4 heart pieces in each of the first 8 levels (4 x 8 = 32 pieces)
+5 - 2 heart pieces in each overworld area +(2 x 10 = 20 pieces)

Here is a brief walkthrough that will lead you to Level 1. This will give you an idea of what the rest of the game is like.

You begin in the town. Enter your house in front of you, and your mom will give you 50 Rupees to start you off. Go right, and you will find your friend's house, who unknowingly states the plot. Go right again to another friend's house, and he will tell you to visit your grandpa. Before you do, push his TV set and enter the cave under it to find the very first heart piece. It is possible to find three before you even enter Level 1, but two of them require Super Bombs. You probably won't want to buy them just yet. Anyway, leave his house and go right one last time to your grandpa's house, and he will give you the Wooden Sword. After getting it, feel free to explore the town. You will find the eight item stores, which you will visit later once you have more money. If you don't mind paying, you could shell out 20 rupees to buy some bombs, which you will need soon. The cheaper, but more unreliable method, is to try to get some from Blue Octoroks. The upper-left area of the town has an info shop, which you won't really need if you are reading this. The info is free though, so go ahead and hear it if you want. The upper-right area has a gambling game you can try if you are a risk-taker. For now, you should just leave the town.
You will now be in the field area. On this first screen (whichever one it is, it doesn't matter), you will notice there are no enemies. Try walking around over the grass tufts, and eventually you will be warped to your first battle screen. Defeat the enemies here to possibly get some money, and when they are all gone, 5 rupees will appear. Walk off any side of the screen to return to the normal area. Now feel free to explore the rest of the field. Remember to look for the battle screen on each new screen you enter. You will need to slash some bushes to get past in one area. The center of the field has a fence around it. This fenced area has battle screens as well, and these contain Blue Octoroks that may give you bombs. The left side of the field leads to the desert. The sand is too hot to walk on without the boots, so don't try to enter it. The right side has a forest that you can enter later. Once you get the Blue Candle, you can burn down the large trees. The upper area has a mountain. You will notice a Heart Piece, which you can get if you have a Super bomb and a sense of exploration. The last area of importance in the field is the entrance to Level 1. You will notice a part of the mountain with a large dent sort of thing. There are also rocky tiles in front of it. Bomb this area to uncover the entrance, and then good luck! You'll need it. The difficulty starts at the same level as the rest of the game, so it can be a little overwhelming.
